The 326th ASA Company (Operations Forward) on Flak Kaserne was directly under the 502nd ASA Group in 1975 when I reported there in 1975. I was levied into the 502nd and upon arrival was assigned to the 326th. The company did not come directly under the 307th ASA Bn until after the activation of INSCOM in 1976 and the reduction of the group to a battalion, the 502nd I&S Battalion which orginally was composed of the HHC, the 201st and the 328th. The 409th (Ops Rear) was for a brief period under the 305th ASA Bn (supposedly in lieu of the forward operations company the corps was supposed to have). When I left in 1978, the 326th was in the 307th ASA Bn. When I returned to Augsburg in 1980, assigned to 1st Ops, the 326th was still there and underthe 207th MI Bde. Before I left in 1983, I believe the 326th had been redesignated as a lettered company within the 207th's Tactical Exploitation Battalion.
